Pictures-Pictures and more Pictures...

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE SUMMER!!! You will never hear me complain about heat!!! I love it... and everything that comes along with it!!! Of course the Grounds Keeper is exhausted after a long day in the yard....

We wait all winter for these days to come and when they finally do... you just don't want to come inside... I am up and out at 6am... Coffee in my hand just walking around looking at everything and how it has grown overnight. I just don't want to miss a thing. All the new babies I grew from seeds this spring inside, now getting bigger and bigger with each day!!!

So lets take a walk around a few of the beds in full bloom....
"CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO GET A LARGER VIEW"...

Masses of Primrose, have taken most of it out around the house already this spring....

Foxglove-Digitalis

Snapdragons........

The "Secret Garden" and my Wonderful new gate..... My husband Tom built this for me and I LOVE IT!!!

He put so much time in this and it sure shows. It was everything I wanted and MORE!!!

My new wave petunias... There were only 10 seeds in this packet but it was worth it... This is one plant and it will only get bigger...

Clematis.... Growing up the new gate...

Calendula.......

Lots of them Mass planted by the birdbath....

Hens and Chickens...

The back side of the Secret Garden...

Inside this pot hanging from the tree is a 1 gallon milk jug with a tiny pin hole in one corner, filled with water it just keeps dripping into the saucer beneath to keep my birdies watered and cool all summer....

This is the side view into the Secret Garden, there are two paths going through it....

This is the back path.....

This is the back view of the Secret Garden from the Bird Garden...

This is the Bird Garden / Herb Garden / Butterfly Garden in the back yard...

Here are two of the tiny sunflowers....

The topiary pots filled with herbs, and Wooly Thyme on the ground...

Do you see the concrete Cat peeking out from behind the Sedum???

Lavender Blooming.....

The neighbors old plow, looking quite beautiful among the herbs.....

The tiny plants on the front edge are Bush Basil, they will get so big and
beautiful, we will be eating pesto all summer.....

Not sure exactly what this bush is but the birds love it....

Lots of berrys to eat...

" Miss Petunia"

And of course "Miss Petunia" in her glory... Decked out in Red-White and Blue this year...

There are lots of vines at her base this year just ready to start growing up her skirt and blooming....

She is just a Good Ol Girl.... Ready for summer......

Or should I say a Big Ol Girl... LOL
Here's a shot of the back bed and some of the things growing here.....
See how many you can name???

I can't beleive how things are blooming so early this year, it must be all the snow we had this winter. This Butterfly Weed shouldn't be blooming for another month here...

My Nicotina that comes back every year in this spot I love their night blooming color....
The back porch.... A new pot, I can't wait until the petunias start spilling out of it... Mandevilla..
The Tipsy Pots are starting to overflow like they should....The little white flower spilling out of the blue pot is one of my favorites, just so sweet and airy. It is called Diamond Frost, it mounds and blooms until frost... My kind of flower....

By the front porch steps, Galardia...

Night Blooming Jasman....

The Cone Flowers

Burgandy Baby Nicotina.... I had no idea it would get this big!
Well it is time to get back in the yard. I'll give you another tour in a few days as new bloomers come on....

Have a Great Day,
Lynn

Lynn girl !
You described exactly how I feel about my garden too ! How we get through winter with vivid dreams of how our garden swill be in summer and how we never want to come in !! .. I get up at 5 .. it is my summer body clock .. and some times I get the most fantastic sunrises from that magical time : )
I love your garden girl : ) that new arbor gate your husband built for you is gorgeous .. the idea of a secret garden that i could roam around in my pj's and scary morning hair ? now that would be a dream come true : )
All of your plants look lush and very happy .. makes for a VERY happy gardener !!
Joy : )

Good morning Lynn. I loved seeing all your flowers. What a romantic name 'secrete garden'. I love the idea. The wonderful gate your husband built makes it seem like a secluded and secrete place.

I love your idea of putting the water jug inside a pot. I will definitely find a way to make that work in my garden.

Your flowergarden pictures are beautiful. I never knew Calendula's came in other colors than yellow. Somebody years ago sent me some yellow calendula seeds and they weren't very pretty. Have no idea who it was and where they came from but I hated them. It was when we first moved here in 2005..I have just started growing my own flowerseeds opening a whole new hobby up for me. You sure have a green thumb! That garden gate your hubby built is beautiful! Love your secret garden!

I know they must be some type of salvia in the first picture planted in the back. I love 'em! Would love to grow some like yours in 2012. Do you grow all of yours inside or have you ever tried wintersowing in milk jugs? Looks like you have a lot of property to plant a lot of milk jugs but I see you also grow seeds inside. I see your little set up..do you use any "grow or shop lights" with that set up? All your flowers look so healthy and lush. Sure have a green thumb!
